Encode or Decode UDP, RTP, RTSP, HTTP, or HTTPS Video Streams in HD-SDI & HDMI
Model# H-NVS-3000
Thor H-NVS-3000 series encoders and decoders are designed for modern video over IP applications. Most encoders that provide network transport stream IP outputs are limited to a basic UDP or RTP protocol. These video protocols only work under ideal network conditions and are typically only able to deliver video streams to local equipment on the same subnet. Transport over the public internet or across WAN networks requires modern network video protocols such as RTSP or HTTP. Thor Network Video Servers are ideally suited for modern internet video applications and are capable of directly transporting live video streams over the public internet at full frame 1080p at 60 fps. The internal server system will support multiple RTSP or HTTP clients providing the benefits of a multicast type architecture without straining the network. With RTSP or HTTP protocols, video streams are only sent to clients that request them. This eliminates network overload experienced with basic UDP or RTP multicast. Video input is provided via HD-SDI, HDMI, and Composite video on BNC.
Encoding is performed via a high level H.264 hardware FPGA chip with the same quality and latency characteristics as other Thor Broadcast encoders. Management is provided through an internal web server for remote monitoring and configuration. This system even offers live video monitoring from within the web browser when used with Internet Explorer. This system is designed to accept broadcast quality HD video and encode it for network and internet video applications for all standard protocols and systems. Almost any equipment that accepts IP video will work with a Thor Network Video Server.
The diverse protocol support can send video to a website, computer, modulator, IRD, android or IOS system, IPTV media server, Cloud Server, CDN, IP Set Top Box, broadcast decoder, internet device, or any other IP video client. An on board USB interface allows local recording of the encoded content, and an internal FTP server allows remote incremental archival for secure backups. Also provided is a fullly transparent duplex serial connection for both RS-232 and RS-422, allowing bi-directional control signals to be sent over the network connection when paired with a second Thor H-HD-NVS system. Thor Advanced Protocol Network Video Servers are an ideal platform for delivering live digital video content to clients accross an internet connected world.
