Descripción

H-IP-32RF is an Analog NSTC /PAL analog modulator with IPTV input, works as s Digital IPTV streams to 32 analog channel modulator - gateway, it has two GB Ethernet ports for content IPTV SMPTS / MPTS TS's input that will convert up to 32 programs to standard NTSC or PAL or SECAM  modulated channels. Each port can handle up to 840 Mbps or 64 IP programs. H-IP-32RF supports H.265 HEVC, H.264, and MPEG2 transport stream encoded formats. The output is 32 programs on adjacent or non-adjacent carriers within a 400 MHz bandwidth between 47 and 862 MHz. It works as an IPTV decoder demodulator integrated with an analog modulator.

Question and Answers

Question:

I’m wondering if there are any products offerings that would suit our use case.  We have a 50 person camp, currently we have 24 Shaw Direct set top boxes run through a multiplexer and sent through coax as analog channels to each room.  We would like to upgrade, and preferably switch to HD.  We do need to keep using Shaw Direct as the internet bandwidth is limited.  I’ve attached a picture of our current setup that is in dire need of assistance.

Currently looking at possibly using one of your RF modulators (H-IP-32RF) and connect it to the Shaw system using an Arris DSR-7400.  Is that something that would work?  If there is an ethernet only solution, we would be open to rewiring each room for ethernet, too – But then we would need set top boxes.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:

From the picture it looks like you have analog Set Top Boxes from Shaw; all out going to PICO MACOM modulators, then leaving on Coax lines.
Does that sound right?

If you want to go to HD, you'll need to replace all the SHAW boxes to ones that output HDMI signals.
Those HDMI signals will need to go into HDMI Modulators; we have some like this
https://thorbroadcast.com/product/1-4-or-8-hdmi-digital-rf-encoder-modulator-8230.html/238
https://thorbroadcast.com/product/1-4-or-8-hdmi-digital-rf-encoder-modulator-8230.html/239

And you can leave the coax lines that go to each cabin alone; there might require some rebalancing of the system for the RF.

If you want to replace the SD for HD and then use encoders to convert to IPTV; you can do that but you'll need IPTV encoders + IPTV Set Top Boxes at each TV.md_24_channle_HDMI_IPTV_MPEG4_Encoder.png

Then each Television will get one of these little boxes with a remote; it essentially converts the streams of IP Ethernet, to a tangible signal like HDMI for your TV.
IP_TV_STB.png

Not to mention you'll need some IP switches as well, plus setup and then somebody who understands IP engineering to keep an eye on things.

So there are several options here; but that really depends on how everything is wired; the facility layout and other metrics we can use to kind of gauge the best route of options.

Question:
We have a project for renewal of the TV system of Hotel. There are 201 TVs in the hotel. The management wants to change the TV headend to IPTV system. But the cables to the TV's in the rooms are RG6 coaxial. So we need an IPTV to analog RF signal converter to have a solution.
The TV models are below:

LG 32LH200C 187 pcs,

LG 42LH200C 11 pcs,

Samsung LA52B550K1R 3 pcs.

The customer will get 60 or 120 or 180 IPTV channels. So we need a system converter for these channels to be viewed on current installed TVs.

Would you please quote us for this system.

Also is it HD broadcast or old analog broadcast? If HD broadcast do you have receiver boxes?

---------

2)

Do we need additional device for this system. Or 2/4/6 32channel modulator is enough for broadcast?

Also do you have IPTV to HD (dvb-c) converters?

Answer:
We have a very good solution to your problem.
This is a link to our IP to PAL Analog modulator H-IP-32RF
Each device modulate up to 32 channels of PAL.
These are easily stackable, so you can combine a lot of these models with a simple RF combiner.
Based on your needs of 60/12/180 channels, you just need to purchase 2 or 4 or 6 models. That is up to you.
-------------------
2 )

it depends on the IPTV source and streaming protocols you are using.

If the streams are generated locally from the encoders as multicast UDP streams, then the H-H-IP-32RF units would be needed.

However, if the streams are coming from the providers as HLS or RTMP streams over the public internet, you would need to decode each stream to CVBS or HDMI video using an IP Set-top box. In that case, you would require CVBS or HDMI Analog modulators such as the following:

  1. H-16HDMI-RF-AMOD Link: 16 HDMI to Analog Agile CATV RF Modulator (NTSC)

  2. H-16RCA-RF-AMOD Link: 16-Channel Analog Agile Modulator (NTSC/PAL/SECAM)

Question:

I'd like to rethink my approach and perhaps use a Thor IP to Analog solution. The challenge is that I need to convert (48) QAM channels. Using the BT NTSC-16 units will require three of them. I'm hoping you have a unit that can manage that but all I've seen is one that supports 32 channels. Using two wouldn't be an issue and I'm confident it's nore convinient and possible less expensive.

Answer:

Thank you for reaching out and considering our Thor Fiber UDP multicast IP to Analog NTSC CATV RF modulator H-IP-32RF for your project needs.

I appreciate your thorough evaluation of our product and comparison with the Blonder Tongue Laboratories Clearview NTSC16. Indeed, the Thor Fiber H-IP-32RF operates in a similar manner but boasts a notable advantage with its double capacity of 32 channels compared to the 16 channels offered by the Clearview NTSC16. For 48channels, you could use 2 H-IP-32RF, insed of 3 Clearview NTSC16

Question:

We have many IP/network PTZ cameras we would like to connect to an older Analog Camera system/recorder (i.e. Model: Bosch Allegiant – it’s a large Bosch system with recording and distributed viewing/control from many control rooms). A contact has suggested one of your products could be an option – see link below. At first glance, seems it might work if we add some RCA to BNC conversion on the output of your converter. We are based in British Columbia, Canada and was wondering if you had distributers in Canada? If not, could you provide quote for 1 unit (i.e. we would likely order just 1 to start to validate)

Answer:

This unit  -  8 IP to 8 Analog Video - Audio CVBS OUT could work under the condition that your IP cameras can output UDP multicast streams and that the video is encoded in 480i/60.

https://thorbroadcast.com/product/8-ip-to-8-analog-video-audio-cvbs-out.html

This is the only resolution and streaming protocol that the unit supports.

Another option, which supports a wider range of streaming protocols like RTSP, HLS, and other encoding formats, is our IPTV STB – model H-STB-IP. It has a primary HDMI video output, but we can also provide a CVBS analog audio/video cable. This way, the box can decode your IP camera streams and output them via CVBS.

Here’s the link:  https://thorbroadcast.com/product/compact-ip-decoder-set-top-box.html

We also have another option: a device that converts UDP multicast IP streams directly to analog RF (PAL/NTSC) output using a modulator. - H-IP-32RF
Please let me know if any of the solutions will work for you .
