Thor Fiber Pre-amplifier EDFAs F-PD-EDFA are designed specifically for C-Band 44 or 88 DWDM optical signal amplification in metro network applications.
Pre-amplifier EDFAs are typically placed before the de-multiplexer or in the front of the receiver for improving the sensitivity of the receiver and extending the signal transmission distance, increase the optical power level of DWDM channels before being received. They are capable of amplifying DWDM signals as low as -30 dBm.
Pre-amplifier EDFAs provide flattened optical gain and very low noise figures. Two optical gain levels are available (17 and 25 dB) to provide maximum flexibility for network design and implementation.
EDFA products can provide an optimal solution for DWDM network optical amplification based on channel and transmission distance requirements.
IMPORTANT NOTE*** (it is very important to interface our unit with SC/APC - Angle Polished Connector to avoid any light reflections.
If your fiber is terminated with the SC, ST, FC /PC flat connector, you need to use an optical jumper from PC type to SC/APC for proper conversion.
