The Thor Broadcast H-HDMI-SDI-E-4K is a professional video encoder, which means it takes a video signal from any equipment—such as a camera, video switcher, or production system—and converts it into a live video stream that can be sent over a network or the internet. Instead of uploading video using a computer, capture card, or streaming software, this encoder does the job in dedicated hardware. It accepts HDR HDMI or 12G-SDI inputs, including full 4K at 60 frames per second, and compresses the video using modern formats like H.264 or H.265 so it can be reliably delivered to viewers or systems anywhere.

Once encoded, the video can be sent simultaneously to multiple destinations using many common streaming methods. These include live platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook, as well as IPTV systems, media servers, video conferencing platforms, and private networks.
