Question and Answers

Both protocols are usually transmitted using RS485 over a pair of wires. You can have the same pair of wires running to multiple cameras with each camera having a different address. The maximum length for RS485 is about 1200m which makes it ideal for running between the cameras. There are various pieces of equipment you can use to combine the RS485 and the video signal into a single coaxial cable at one end and then split it back into 2 at the other but that is separate from the protocol.

Yes you can slow down the speed. 1. Plug in your computer to the NMS port of the device on the back of the camera. 2. You have to use a static IP address if you don't know how to do that you can look at this video from time 1:30 to 3:30 for the instructions on how to setup static IP address. (this video is for the petit but the IP numbers will work for you) 3. once you have completed this process you can open your web browser and type in (if you want to preview what the camera is seeing then you must use Internet Explorer and install the activeX file right under the login window that is in blue "File") 4. Login with Username: admin Password: admin. 5. Under PTZ on the Preview screen there is a sliding - + scale under the arrows and drag it towards the - to slow it down
