Question and Answers

Answer:
The reliable video/audio transfer over the public internet might be  challenging; therefore, a specialized streaming protocol is required

This is the least expensive option for 1 Video channel:
Encoder - SDI/HDMI/VBNS  : H-SPARTAN-1

DECODER : You can use the following

H-IRD-V3-IP-  SDI/HDMI/CVBS/ASI - $1995
IP IRD  ( comercial - professional video decoder)
--------------2
  1. The STB is a single IP to HDMI player. Yes, you can use an external HDMI to SDI converter. The stream can be added manually using its own remote control or video file upload from a USB stick.

  2. The H-IRD-V3-IP is a sophisticated broadcast decoder with different outputs including SDI/HDMI, CVBS, and ASI. It has a web interface for setup and monitoring.

  3. The minimum required bandwidth will be 10Mbps.

  4. Yes, the setup will require IP routing and forwarding.

  5. The encoder's Data IP address needs to be on the same LAN subnet as the local router. The encoder's destination address needs to be set to the WAN IP address of the receiving location's router. The port needs to be forwarded to the local IP address of the STB or IRD.

  6. If you require 24/7 streaming, I would recommend going with the IRD (Integrated Receiver Decoder). The STB works similarly to an LVC player. Alternatively, you can test the STB first.
