HDMI analog modulator NTSC PAL

Q: I am looking at a particular box that you sell, model H-16HDMI-RF-AMOD. I'm hoping to find someone who can tell me if that box is what I'm looking for, or if perhaps I should be looking at another one. I'd like to use as much infrastructure as is currently in place for a non-profit. We have coax run to seven DirecTV boxes, which are attached to seven different TVs. I'd like to eliminate a few of those boxes, hook the rest up to HDMI (and preferably HD quality), and then distribute that out to the TVs using those different sources. Since there are so many TVs and there are plans to add more in the future, I'm also curious to see if there is anything out there that has the ability to automate the on/off process for many different brand TVs so that the only remotes we would need to keep are DirecTV remotes, which we can control by running an IR repeater from the back room where the equipment resides out to a common area where changing them is easy

That device will work for your application; however, this is an analog modulator, so the output picture quality will not be HD, even though the inputs can be HDMI. This is a 16-channel analog NTSC, not digital HD QAM, modulator. The answer is yes if the TV supports an analog NTSC modulated signal; they usually do 99% of the time. It will display a 4:3 image on a 16:9 screen, so the sides of the screen will be black. Q: I was looking for the possibility of a device that could tune an RF (QAM) signal and assign a frequency to an HDMI output. One RF in, and some kind of interface that would allow me to assign signals/channels to multiple HDMI out ports. Basically, it would be the reverse version of your H-16HDMI-RF-AMOD device. I can't seem to find any device on the market that could do that. Any insight is appreciated.

I understand what you are saying, but that is actually impossible since HDMI is just an AV cable; HDMI has nothing to do with RF. The only way you can do what you are saying is to use multiple RF decoder boxes with HDMI output. So you set the frequency or channel on the decoder and then have an HDMI output; that's how a set-top box works. Description
