The Thor Fiber 4 Video 8 Audio Over Fiber Extender is a professional solution for transmitting four channels of composite video and eight channels of analog audio over a single fiber optic cable. This audio-video-over-fiber system delivers reliable, broadcast-quality AV transmission over long distances with no signal degradation.
The system includes a matched fiber optic transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX). The transmitter digitizes video and audio signals into an uncompressed digital optical signal, which is transmitted over fiber. The receiver converts the optical signal back into the original analog video and audio outputs with high accuracy and minimal noise.
This AV over fiber converter uses 10-bit digital transmission technology, ensuring interference-free video and audio over fiber and eliminating static, signal loss, and distortion commonly found in copper-based systems.
Designed for flexibility, the unit supports both single-mode and multi-mode fiber, with standard transmission distances up to 20 km on single-mode fiber and extended options available up to 120 km for long-haul applications.
The F-4V8A video audio multiplexer reduces cabling complexity by combining multiple signals over a single fiber, making it ideal for broadcast, CCTV, surveillance, stadiums, live events, campuses, and professional AV installations.
