The Thor H-ST2110-TXRX is a professional bidirectional 3G-SDI to SMPTE ST 2110 video over IP converter designed for low-latency, uncompressed video transport over 10G Ethernet or fiber networks. Each unit can transmit and receive at the same time, allowing an SDI video source to be sent from one location to another while simultaneously receiving a remote ST 2110 stream and outputting it as HDMI video.

Bidirectional SDI over ST 2110

The H-ST2110-TXRX is designed as a true bidirectional ST 2110 converter. On the transmit side, the unit accepts a 3G-SDI or HD-SDI input through the BNC connector and converts it into an uncompressed SMPTE ST 2110 IP stream through the SFP+ network port. On the receive side, the same unit can simultaneously receive an incoming ST 2110 stream and convert it to HDMI output for connection to a monitor, display, or production device.

This allows two units to work together as a full two-way video transport system. One unit at Location A can send an SDI camera feed to Location B, while the unit at Location B can simultaneously send a second SDI source back to Location A. Each side receives the remote video feed and outputs it locally through HDMI.

Flexible 10G SFP+ Network Interface

The H-ST2110-TXRX includes a professional 10G SFP+ network port, giving users flexibility to choose the right transport method for their application. The units can be connected directly to each other in a simple point-to-point configuration, or they can be connected through a 10G Ethernet switch network for larger ST 2110 routing, distribution, and monitoring systems.

Each unit comes standard with dual 10G single-mode fiber SFP+ modules, making it ready for fiber-based ST 2110 transport. Customers may also use other compatible 10G SFP+ modules, including single-mode fiber, multimode fiber, or copper RJ45 SFP+ modules, depending on the required distance, network infrastructure, and project needs.

SDI Loop Output for Local Monitoring

The unit includes an SDI loop output, allowing the incoming SDI signal to be passed locally while also being converted to ST 2110. This is useful when the original SDI source needs to feed a local SDI monitor, recorder, switcher, router, or other production equipment.
