Description

H-4HD-EMH-AC3  4 Channel HDMI / Component /Composite Program Encoder IPTV and ASI

Real Time Encoder for 4 HDMI / CVBS or HD YPBpR to MPEG-2 or H.264 on ASI or IP with AC/3

Designed as a companion encoder for the popular QAM-IP series of encoder modulators, Thor H-4HD-EMH series HD program encoders accept up to 4 channels of uncompressed HDMI digital video on 4 inputs; or component and composite video  inputs for mixed media, also accepts composite baseband alongside HDMI to produce Closed Captions on your HDMI programs.  Managed through any modern web browser, each encoder can be independently adjusted for bitrate, codecs, and video image qualities.  Encoding support for the MPEG-2 codec along with Dolby AC/3 audio ensure that the programs generated on this encoder can be viewed by virtually every TV in the United States.  All four program streams are multiplexed into an ASI MPTS output on mirrored BNC terminals.  The ASI output can be directly connected to the ASI input on a QAM-IP digital TV channel modulator.  This allows additional programs to be added to the QAM-IP output channels as additional "virtual" or "sub" channels.  On a TV this will appear as channels 2.1, 2.2, etc.  Each digital channel can carry as many as 20 programs, depending on resolution and encoded bit rate.  In addition to the ASI output, the program streams are also available as UDP or RTP network video transport streams.  This output is fully compliant with IGMP Multicast UDP MPEG-TS standards and can be easily injected into almost any IPTV system.  The stream is a universally accepted format, and can easily be viewed in client applications such as VLC.  In addition to network management on a dedicated NMS Ethernet port, all settings and menu configuration items can easily be viewed or adjusted from the front panel LCD and keypad.  LEDs are also provided for alarm monitoring and input video detection.

IPTV distribution over LAN most of the time utilizes UDP or RTP Multicast protocol, because it allows point-to-multipoint video & audio distribution. This protocol allows smart IP broadcast over a LAN, essentially any IP device can receive that encoded MPEG TS stream generated by the IPTV encoders.
As an example, you can receive those streams on Smart TV's equipped with a UDP decoding application or software; on PCs and most popular app is VLC player, but using PC's are very inconvenient when we want to convert those to an HDMI output so you can display them on the TV's or Monitors on the network. In those cases we recommend that you use IPTV STB's which are essentially IP to HDMI converters.
Thor has IPTV to HDMI decoders available :
