Question and Answers
Answer:
1) How many QAM channels do you need to convert to analog RF?
How many TS's in one QAM?
2)
As I mention, this is the best choice: H-STB-QAM-ATSC
This tuner has QAM RF input, you can decode any program and it has also ANALOG RF output channel 3 or 4
If you need a different analog channel than 3/4 we would need to add an additional Analog Agile modulator as a second box. It would take the composite Video Audio from the first  STB decoder and output and agile RF analog NTSC or PAL Channel.
Answer:
Your hunch is correct. Our box is for QAM/ATSC; or CATV frequency in the band between 5-1000Mhz
You have a Satellite Dish, which is LBand, lives in the frequency 1-2Ghz; these are entirely different formats.
If you have a Dish subscription account its best to call them for another box as they are licensed subscriptions; buying a box online can work in some cases if you still purchase a CAS card from Dish; but in our case the RF STB is for clear QAM or ATSC 8VSB, not a satellite signal for converting coax to HDMI.
Answer:
Yes, it looks like it. So long as the box you have is ATSC or Clear QAM, then it will replace it.
Who is your Cable TV provider? if you connect RF coax directly to the TV and scan it, is it finding the channels?
2) I see, if you have Xfinity, means you're paying for service which Cable QAM, your service is more than likely which means you require that specific box from Xfinity in order to get your channels.

Our units are Clear QAM with no encryption, used in different applications; the point is you should be contacting Xfinity for another box, because otherwise you won't be getting the channels you're paying for.

Answer:

1) Correct. Our units will modulate HDMI inputs and send out the signal as Clear QAM so no STB is necessary, so long as the televisions have RF input decoders built into them.

2) Yes, generally speaking televisions have RF decoders/tuners built into them. Hence why you can plug in RF cable and get a picture without an STB, because they decode Clear QAM(cable) and ATSC(Antenna); which is what televisions have been using for decades; however I would point out that many new models of tv's coming onto the market don't have RF inputs anymore.

Answer:
We do have several CATV RF Set-top boxes supporting various modulation standards, although they will not work with the RF from your Cable providers.
They can decode CLEAR RF QAM only, cable companies send encrypted RF, so you have to use their STB's to decode the signal.
Those units can decode Off Air RF, because it is not encrypted.
Where are you located, what modulation standard is used in your location?
Answer:
In the Specifications you will see these
 2) Decoding Clear CABLE TV QAM RF
QAM to HDMI
QAM to YPbPr
QAM to CVBS  - Digital to Analog conversion
***QAM to ANALOG RF CH 3/4 as a Digital to Analog converter

So this will only work if your current QAM TS is CLEAR.
image.png
The analog switch for RF out is on the back and you can toggle between channel 3/4
So you will input the RF on the back, and also take RF off the back; F-Type connectors are on the left hand side.
Hope this helps! You can order directly off of our website if you like. Units are in stock.
Answer:
QAM and ATSC are both digital signals. The box you have is for digital RF.
Analog RF is NTSC; this box can not decode NTSC.
Not sure who got the idea it can do that, the only analog portion of that box is that it can do QAM to ANALOG on RF CH3/4 which is a switch on the back.

IF they need QAM output then we have 2 steps solution, ATSC input to the STB, then HDMI to DHMI QAM modulator
https://thorbroadcast.com/product/petit-hdmi-rf-modulator-1.html

Answer:

The cable companies encrypt their QAM channels, so you would need to use a particular STB which is supported by that cable company.
Our STB supports CLEAR QAM without any encryption.
The easiest way to check if your QAM is encrypted or not, please connect the CAble TV feed to your Tuner TV, if the Tv scans channels OK, then you have Clear QAM, if not your Qam is encrypted and you Must use Cable Tv STB.
There is no other way around it.

Answer:
Yes correct, so new TV's that don't have RF tuners built in all have the same issue, if you have a QAM system in place for RF, you need a tuner to convert the signal from RF to HDMI.
These boxes are exactly what you need. The only question you can ask if it's QAM or ATSC, but since its a campus wide circuit, I'm 100% positive it's going to be QAM.
So you plug it in, do a channel scan on QAM (cable), then use the remote to change the channel to your desired preference.
Answer:
1) If the cable in the RV park is either Clear QAM or it is Antenna ATSC, then we have a tuner box available.
However if it's cable from a telecom, like Spectrum, Time Warner, Verizon Fios etc then you need to get a box from them.
Can you confirm what kind of cable is being transmitted through the RV Park?
We can help with install via phone support as well.
2)
Then that tuner I sent a link to would be ideal since it has both modulation standards.
All you have to do is just go into the menu options and do a channel scan for CATV or OFF air when you go to a new park.
Very simple and straightforward, solves all issues for you.
Let me know if you would like a quote. Or if you like, you can purchase off our website.
Answer:

Since you have a paid service, Comcast, the QAM signal is encrypted
and the only way to get that signal is through their products. We only
offer Clear QAM or ATSC tuners.
You'd need to contact Comcast directly and get pricing for an
additional Set top box.

Answer:

To convert coaxial cable (coax) to HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), you will need a coaxial to HDMI converter or decoder like Thor H-STB-ATSC-QAM . This device converts a coaxial cable signal into an HDMI signal that can be displayed on an HDMI-compatible device such as a television or monitor.

To use a coaxial to HDMI converter, you will need to connect the coaxial cable source (such as a cable box or satellite receiver) to the converter using a coaxial cable. The converter will then convert the coaxial cable signal into an HDMI signal that can be displayed on an HDMI-compatible device.

There are several types of coaxial to HDMI converters available, including both analog and digital converters. The choice of converter will depend on the specific requirements of the application, including the distance that the signal needs to be transmitted and the data rate of the signal.

It is also important to note that HDMI and coaxial cable signals are not interchangeable, and a device is required to convert between the two formats. A coaxial to HDMI converter is used to convert coaxial cable signals into HDMI signals, while an HDMI to coax encoder is used to convert HDMI signals into coaxial cable signals.

An ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) or QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) set-top box (STB) is a device used to receive and decode digital television signals transmitted over the air or through cable.

An ATSC STB is used to receive and decode digital television signals transmitted using the ATSC digital television standard. ATSC STBs are commonly used in North America, South Korea, and other countries that use the ATSC standard.

A QAM STB is used to receive and decode digital television signals transmitted using the QAM digital television standard. QAM STBs are commonly used in cable television systems, and are capable of receiving multiple channels of video, audio, and other data over a single coaxial cable.

Both ATSC and QAM STBs are equipped with a tuner that is able to receive and decode digital television signals, and a display interface that allows the signals to be displayed on a television or other display device. They may also include additional features such as digital video recording (DVR) capabilities, on-demand content, and interactive services. Our H-STB-ATSC-QAM is very unique on the market because display VCT - Virchual channel numbers correcty according to the SMPTE CVCT and TVCT standard.

Answer:
Yes, those units can do ATSC to HDMI. They are RF demod specific. This is an RF STB, for RF demodulation to HDMI output and must be ordered in a specific RF modulation standard.
However I would suggest these models H-STB-QAM-ATSC
They are much newer, and much less expensive. We have these in stock and ready to ship.
Rackmount is not available, they are only made in compact format.
Answer:
Yes you can do that.
However we encourage you to try our newer, modernized box, that has QAM and ATSC available H-STB-QAM-ATSC. It's also much less expensive at only $125.00
In your case, you would set it to ATSC for over the air antenna, coaxial input, and HDMI output. Comes with a remote and very simple to use; we have them in stock.
Answer:

Thank you so much for your kind words. We believe that the STB is highly reliable and versatile, capable of serving a wide range of applications due to its support for Off-the-Air ATSC and DVB-C Annex B Cable TV modulation standards. We will respond to your questions soon.

Answer:
They have volume control but that's it. Our more high end encoders with all the bells and whistles have features like that because the encoding chipset can handle it.
A model with a cheaper encoding chip won't be able to handle all the in depth features like that.

The issue is he's pulling the audio directly from the STB, meanwhile our model needs to encode and modulate the picture; naturally that's taking longer to do.

This is my cheap solution for sports bars that want to handle the audio from a Petit in realtime; our RF STB modulated to the same channel as the PETIT output, and pull the analog audio of our RF STB.

The whole key to this solution is you need to pull the audio AFTER it's encoded and modulated, not BEFORE.
Pulling the audio before the encoding/modulating means you're gonna get it about 150-300ms faster then the video.
Encoding takes about 0.5 seconds.
The only way to sync Video/Audio would be using an external tuner.
The tuner would decode Audio at the same time as the TV's would decode Video
