Component Encoder Modulator QAM-IP

Thor YPbPr Component encoder modulators are ideal for use with legacy systems or late model HD equipment using analog HD interaces such as Component, RGB, or YPbPr.  These standards use 5 RCA type connectors (3 Video, 2 Audio) or monitor type DB15 jacks.  Thor encoders also support the analog S-Video interface.  Digital modulators are combination devices that bundle real time HD hardware encoders with a managed program stream multiplexer and agile RF QAM modulator.  Each chassis can encode up to 4 channels of Component video to MPEG-2 or H.264 and modulate the programs on up to 4 RF carrier outputs.  In addition to the encoded programs, the unit can also modulate programs encoded externally via an ASI input. This platform is most commonly used by large organizations or broadcasters that own video matrix routers.  This platform is ideal for corporate MATV systems or in house HD video distribution from analog video sources.  This platform is not recommend for broadcast headend signal origination due to lack of 708 closed captioning support.  For broadcasters requiring FCC mandated 708 captioning and Dolby AC/3 audio please contact a sales representative.

The component HD video standard is commonly found in consumer and profesional devices all over the world.  It is an analog signal support for HD video signals up to 1080p.  The latest standards support full rate HD video at 1080p60.  Thor encoder cards support any component video input input from analog HD or SD format.  In addition to component, the encoder cards also support analog CVBS & S-Video.  Composite video (CVBS) is supported for both USA standard NTSC as well as world standard PAL.
