Description

XLR Balanced Audio with Phantom Power Fiber Optic Transmitter/Receiver Kit

Our fiber optic system is made for transmitting XLR balanced audio and phantom power, which is perfect for microphones that need 48V power. We offer different versions, including 2-channel, 4-channel, 8-channel, and bidirectional models. We also have models that support longer fiber optic distances, such as 20km, 40km, 80km, or 120km, depending on the version.

The system uses advanced technology like FPGA, digital coding, and clock recovery, plus intelligent noise reduction, to make sure your audio stays clear with no popping sounds. It can carry up to 8 channels of XLR and phantom audio over a single fiber optic cable. With CWDM technology, the system can transmit multiple audio signals at once.

We also offer unidirectional units that can be used in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint setups. This means one transmitter (TX) can send audio to 4, 8, or even 16 receivers, depending on the model.

The units are easy to set up and operate with a plug-and-play design, so anyone can use them. These systems are perfect for both small and large setups, and they use single-mode fiber for long-distance transmission. Each kit comes with both the transmitter and receiver, making it easy to buy and ship.

This system is reliable, easy to install, and requires minimal maintenance. It’s a great solution for professional audio needs and large-scale applications.

1. XLR Audio over Fiber Optic:

  • XLR is a standard connector for balanced audio signals (such as for professional microphones, mixers, or audio interfaces). The balanced nature of XLR helps reduce noise and interference.
  • Fiber Optic Extenders are used to carry audio signals over long distances with minimal signal degradation and electromagnetic interference. They convert the electrical XLR signal into light signals, which travel through fiber optic cables.

2. 48V Phantom Power:

  • Phantom Power is a DC voltage (typically 48V) sent through the same XLR cable used for audio signals, often to power condenser microphones or other devices that require it.
  • When using fiber optic extenders, special considerations need to be made to pass phantom power along with the audio signal. Typically, the fiber optic extender system will have a built-in method of sending phantom power back down the XLR line, or you would need a separate injector to supply the 48V DC.

3. Fiber Optic Extender Setup:

  • The transmitter (or sender) unit converts the analog XLR audio and 48V phantom power into a signal suitable for transmission over fiber optic cables.
  • The receiver unit on the other end converts the fiber optic signal back into an analog XLR signal and provides phantom power back to the microphone.

4. Advantages:

  • Long Distance: Fiber optics can transmit audio signals over much longer distances (hundreds to thousands of meters) without significant signal degradation, making them ideal for large venues, stadiums, or broadcast environments.
  • Noise Immunity: Fiber optic cables are immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI), which makes them perfect for environments with a lot of electrical noise.

Uses CWDM technology to transmit one or multiple channels of XLR analog balanced audio.

  • Each audio channel has an adjustable 48V phantom power switch.
  • Features FPGA technology for digital coding and clock recovery.
  • Built-in automatic high-pass filter to remove DC offset.
  • Intelligent noise reduction system for smooth transitions and simulated squelch, ensuring a 100dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) without pops or distortion.
  • Audio interface includes Level 3 lightning protection, up to IEC61000-4-5 (8/20μs) differential mode protection of 6KV.
  • Supports standard single-mode fiber optic transmission up to 20 km.
  • LED status indicators to monitor device operation.
  • Plug-and-play design, no setup required.
  • Devices are sold as a pair (transmitter and receiver are distinct)
