This unit provides up to 8 SDI or HDMI inputs, which you can select either in the options menu or on the simple and intuitive GUI. This Thor modulator has independent input cards for flexibility for digital modulation because it eliminates the need for SDI to HDMI or HDMI to SDI converters. Simply select which source you want to use and input the channel frequency, creating an automated encoding headend device that can clean up your headend and modulation distribution infrastructure.

Each channel can individually be selected as an SDI or HDMI input; it can be switched on the fly using front panel buttons or Thor's dynamic proprietary web interface. Each of the 8 RF output channels can be set totally independently as a frequency and modulation standard. For example, you can input 4 channels of SDI and set them to ATSC output, and then input 4 channels of HDMI and set them to QAM. This flexibility hasn't been seen before on the market, creating a whole new generation standard for encoder modulation products.

The new THOR HYBRID Modulator has an NMS port and LCD display with simple D-Pad buttons for control and easy setup on the fly. It includes and supports the majority of modulation standards found in the world, such as Clear QAM Annex A and Annex B, ATSC-8VSB, DVB-T, and ISDB-T. The Hybrid modulator supports MPEG2 video encoding up to 25Mbps/channel, audio AC3 or MPEG1 Layer 2, and AAC, Thor's world-famous Low Latency, and VCT - Virtual Channel Numbers for increased flexibility. Each CATV RF channel can be set individually, so it does not have to be in a linear 8ch block; feel free to spread out your new custom RF channels all over the existing RF spectrum in your modulation lineup.

I'm an AV consultant for theaters and performance venues. I'm finishing the AV design for a new theater, and I am specifying the Thor Broadcast modulator for the video paging system. I would like your support in specifying the correct equipment: System Description: Sources: * 1 x PTZ HD-SDI camera (QSC). * 1 x computer for generating media. * 1 x CATV cable TV signal. * 1 x DVD/Blu-ray player. Zones: * 6 x TV screens for dressing rooms. * 10 x TV screens in the lobby. * 1 x TV screen on the control booth for reference. We have a perfect solution for your application. If I understand correctly, you will have the following video inputs: 1 x SDI (PTZ camera; by the way, we can supply it as well. This is the best hybrid modulator because it has 8 inputs, and each input can be HDMI or SDI, and it supports all the modulation standards like DVB-C QAM, ATSC, DVB-T, ISDB-T, and DTMB. The H-2HDMI-2SDI-XXX-IPLL is a good unit, but it has 2 SDI and 2 HDMI inputs. You cannot do 3 HDMI and 1 SDI on that unit. Besides, this unit has IPTV output as well and costs almost the same as H-HYBRID-RF-8

I work for a baseball team. I have a Blackmagic switcher that I would like to insert into my company's cable environment so that employees can go to channel whatever and access the program feed of the switcher from wherever they are in the stadium. I'd like to discuss options. We broadcast in 720p at 60 frames a second. Is there a simple way to do this without breaking the bank?

Can you share with me the combiner model number? Also if I have the multi LED screen 55 inches and Cardio equipment such as treadmill, bicycle as outputs maybe 63 outputs distributed by Rg 6 cable, how I can distribute the combined signal? Also if you recommend the tuner specification for the LED screen?

RF combiners come in a variety of standards. Our H-2x1-RF is $10 You combine the RF signal out of the unit using the above combiner, then you send the RG6 to all equipment. Chances are you will need AMPS and TAPS for that many devices. 63 endpoints would require some planning and due diligence by a commercial AV professional or an electrical engineer. They would need to map out power budgets and plan accordingly with RG6 distribution planning. We do not have a tuner for your LED screen because the output from those modulators is NTSC analog. We have a client asking for an SDI input signal (HD, not 4K needed) to DVB-T (if possible DVB-T2 standard) modulator for a local television. I have attached some pictures for you to check. As you can see, this system was done using single-channel modulators and DA amplifiers. From the Broadcast Center, all the SAT channels + local inputs are distributed via COAX to the crew network and passenger network. Each fire zone and deck then has a distribution amplifier that takes the signal into each cabin. All routing is done via the Composite Autopatch 64x64 matrix, which will also be upgraded to a modular matrix with a mix of HDMI, 3G SDI, Composite (for some legacy equipment), and Fiber. I would like to find a device with a loop out connector to send to 2 or 3 multiviewers for preview and monitoring. With the original configuration, the analog audio was passing through an EMERGENCY MUTE BOX that was cutting the audio signal when an emergency announcement is sent from the bridge. We should also try to replicate this function in the digital domain using the same contact closure from Relay/GPIO.

One of our concerns if with the Thor system working with what we currently have existing within any of our QAM infrastructure. Right now we have some Blonder Tongue HDE4S-PRO-LL units that are using the below QAM output with QAM256 selected. When looking through your manual I am unsure of the comparable Modulation standard that would work best with what we are currently using. Could you assist me with confirming what would work best with our current system and settings for that that would work best for us? In addition I wanted to ask if these modulators allowed for the 20.1, 20.2 Channel scheme or if they were limited to the single 20, 21 channel scheme. Lastly I wanted to ask if the channels that were selected were able to be out of order or if they needed to be Concurrent I.E 1,2,3,4 or something along the lines of 3,5,8,12.

These particular models do not allow you to put multiple programs on ONE RF channel, so they are limited to just whole numbers; only one input can go on one RF channel.

These models are the only ones we make that can do multiple programs on one channel like 20.1, 20.5, etc because they have the encoding chipset that makes it possible.

You can cherry pick channels and set them up however you like, they do not have to be concurrent. This can be done via channel selection or VCT.
