Tune and Demodulate 4 RF carriers (channels and sub-channels), re-multiplex with ASI & IP; output ASI & IP
Thor H-IRD-V4 system has 4x independent RF tuner inputs. Several different RF tuner cards are available - Satellite - DVBS/S2, off Air ATSC, DVB-T, ISDB-T and Cable TV QAM (model dependent)
Each input can be set to a different RF channel. The IRD will scan selected channels and discover all Video programs (subchannels) inside the channel.
Program streams from all four tuners as well as the IP and ASI inputs can be multiplexed and remapped in any order. Independent output pipes for IP / ASI and RF QAM are fully configurable.
The unit has a MUX option and each video program from the RF input and can be selected for output as :
1 ) IP TS (MPTS) multicast / unicast output (RF to IP applications)
1) CATV RF QAM Channel (RF to QAM applications)
2) IP TS (MPTS) multicast / unicast output (RF to IP applications)
3) ASI (MPTS) output- (RF to ASI applications)
The unit has 4 CAM slots for Satellite (DVB-S/S2) encrypted channels. Industry standard support for Conditional Access is provided by 4 Common Interface (CI) slots. These slots support CAM modules such as CableCard or any other system using the PCMCIA interface. In addition to descrambling programs from the RF tuners, the CAM system can also decrypt transport streams from the IP & ASI interfaces.
Depending on the Operator, the required CAM Module could be, NDS VIDEOGUARD, CONAX, IRDETO, NAGRA VISION, etc.
This platform is ideal for program aggregation and multiplexing in cable TV headends and corporate MATV systems. Full configuration and management are available on the front panel LCD and keypad, and remote access and monitoring are available on a dedicated NMS network port for control through a web browser.

The transmodulator is a multi-standard RF CATV device used for the multiconversion of digital transmissions, supporting QAM, ATSC, and satellite DVB-S/S2, as well as DVB-T, DVB-C, and ISDB-T for both inputs and outputs. It facilitates various modulation conversions, such as ATSC to QAM, QAM to ATSC, QAM to QAM, DVB-S/S2 to QAM, DVB-S/S2 to ATSC, DVB-S/S2 to DVB-T, and DVB-S/S2 to ISDB-T
