Description

1 Video 8 Audio HD MPEG2/4 Hardware Low Latency Encoder

Real Time Encoder for both MPEG-2 (4:2:2) or H.264 ( 4:2:0 ) streams on ASI or IP outputs

PN : H-MPEG2-H264-E2

Thor part number H-MPEG2-H264-E2 is a multiformat multi-input 1 video 8 Audio hardware encoder for the broadcast industry.  Build from the ground up for broadcasting applications, this platform adds many new features to the Thor encoder line.  This system supports both EIA 608 and 708 closed captioning, providing compliance with FCC regulations.  DVB-ASI input and output is provided and internal ASI program multiplexing allows the encoded content to be added into any standard multi program ASI transport stream.  Furthermore, externally encoded content from the ASI input can also be multiplexed with the IP network video output.  This allows creation of MPTS program streams to feed media servers.  Another new feature included on this platform is a second Gigabit Ethernet TSoIP output for expanded functionality in IPTV systems.  The second TS output is provided via a standard RJ-45 port for a total of 3 network interfaces.  The third network port provides access to the Thor web server management system.  Isolating management on a different network interface allows for more reliability in IPTV systems and simplifies the use of multicast protocols.  Audio input can be provided as either digital AES or analog audio provided with the included DB9 breakout cables.  Audio can also be input via embedded SDI or HDMI audio.  Audio encoded is also offered in two formats, both AAC and MPEG1 can be selected for both MPEG-2 and H.264 video outputs. Unit support AC3 2.0 5.1 Audio passthrough embedded into sdi

Question and Answers

Answer:
Most of our multiple channel encoders support data rates up to 19.5mbps Although we have one Pro Encoder that supports encoding data-rate up to 60Mbbps PN: H-MPEG2-H264-E2
Answer:
We have a perfect solution to convert - encode HD/SD/SDI or HDMI to DVB ASI Transport stream. The encoder can accept HDMI to SDI and encode it to ASI or IP using MPEG2 or H.264 Encoding. This unit can encode up to 8 embedded in SDI audios and closed captioning as well. The Encoder part number is H-MPEG2-H264-E2
Answer:
Thanks for reaching out. Here is our ASI to IP; and IP to ASI device that is very popular for this kind of application with Ubiquity radios. https://thorbroadcast.com/product/dvb-asi-over-ip-gateway.html The customer needs to purchase two of these units. 2) Got it. https://thorbroadcast.com/product/32-iptv-ts-s-input-to-4-asi-output.htmlhttps://thorbroadcast.com/product/32-iptv-ts-s-input-to-4-asi-output.html This is the next level up; 4 ASI to IP; then we have an 8 ASI to IP What's the format of the radio feeds? XLR? 3) Yes, you need two identical units. That is all dependent on your ASI stream; no idea what your data rate is on your ASI, but you should be able to calculate that easily. Audio's require almost no bandwidth, so that's negligible. H-MPEG2-H264-E2 As for the XLR issue, you can possibly use an encoder and a decoder for unidirectional transmission: This encoder can intake XLR x2 and output to ASI (the XLR comes with breakout cables to the ports all the way on the left) Then you can probably use this IRD-V3 Which can intake an ASI stream and output to the 2 XLR ports on the right side; https://thorbroadcast.com/product/ird-satellite-or-atsc-decoder-to-sdi-ip-asi-8230.html/75 Consider you're using the 4ASI to IP unit, you'll have room for the additional 2x XLR audio's going into one ASI; then back out to an ASI port. Theoretically, this is the only way I can fathom doing it without using Fiber Extenders. So the other dilemma is you also need to inject a video alongside the two XLR feeds; this can be a simple generated image; we have this gizmo called the H-SDI-PG which sends an SDI image and tone across fiber to ensure the fiber transmitter and receiver are functioning correctly. This item isn't ideal for this, but you'd need some sort of video feed to send with the XLR because the encoder will not see just the Audio signal alone. we also have 2XLR over Fiber kits. https://thorbroadcast.com/product/xlr-audio-over-fiber-1.html/86 Reasonably speaking this is the only option we have at our shop that could even entertain doing such an application.
