The Thor Fiber F-M1SDI-TR-ET is a compact power house that will allow any user to transport one single channel of 1.485Gbps HD-SDI Serial Data Interface bi-directionally while simultaneously transmitting 10/100Mb/s Ethernet Data. Furthermore, this Thor Fiber Kit of Transmitter and Receiver will send RS485 in reverse for easy control over the kit.

This sturdy unit creates an easy drop environment for users that require HD-SDI and Fast Ethernet across application and even allows additional AUX Cards which can allow a plethora of other options such as RS232 and RS422, and even capable of carrying external analog audio instead of the SDI embedded audio. Question and Answers

Answer:
There are 2 different ways to send the HD/SD 3G- SDI. You are asking about 2 different technologies.
Dedicated fiber and fiber switches are totally different.
 
Uncompressed SDI over the dedicated fiber, F-1MSDI-3G-TX/RX //   SDI in one direction RS485 in the reverse direction over single fiber between it - for TX/RX kit ( 1Ms latency )
 
The Encoded way to send SDI to IP  H-NVS-3500  you would need to have 2 units, one as an encoder, second as the decoder ( about 1s latency)
 
As you can see there is a huge difference.
