Description

RF over Fiber Tx - 8mW Output 45-870 MHz

1310nm - 8mW fiber optic transmitter for Television RF (Radio Frequencies) from 45-870 MHz.  Directly converts any incoming RF signal within this band to optical RF.  Transports all channels and programs over one fiber.  Can be used for point to point, or combined with PLC couplers and fiber optic splitters for point to multipoint applications.  Outputs Industry standard RFoG (RF over Glass) signals that can be accepted by most fiber optic RF receivers from other manufacturers.  Easy to read front panel LCD provides information and alarm data, and simplifies configuration.  This system features a highly linear DFB laser with automatic adjustment circuitry with Automatic Gain Control.  For added reliability, a second internal Power Supply Unit is available as an option.

Transmitter can be used with any or Thor Fiber optical RF receivers

Features

 • 8 mW Optical Power Output from sensor feedback controlled laser system
 • Transports entire 45-870 MHz band even with full channel linups
 • Create high security "Fiber Breaks" to eliminate coax signal return path
 • Automatic Gain Control (AGC) manages RF level with no adjustment needed
 • Compatible with all Thor RFoG CATV series optical receiver systems

IMPORTANT NOTE*** (it is very important to interface our unit with SC/APC - Angle Polished Connector to avoid any light reflections.

If your fiber is terminated with the  SC, ST, FC /PC flat connector, you need to use an optical jumper from PC type to SC/APC for proper conversion.

Question and Answers
Answer:
1) Is your application just point to point? Was the fiber installed recently? Is it Singlemode? Do you plan on adding more endpoints in the future? For 4000' our Rackmount 4mW optical Transmitter will be more then sufficient just by assuming there are no couplers and your application is a point to point; if that fiber goes through multiple patch panels and there is a lot of optical loss then we would have to calculate. But for a simple Transmitter and Receiver, the 4mW option should suffice with our receiver because the optical sensitivity in our receivers is also very good. Hopefully, that makes sense, If you'd like to discuss further or need a formal quote please let me know. 2) in this case 4mW Transmitter F-RF-TX-4 and R-RF-RX-RM would be sufficient for this distance, this is a link : https://thorbroadcast.com/product/4-mw-catv-rf-over-fiber-tx-45-870-mhz.html https://thorbroadcast.com/product/catv-rf-fiber-receiver-high-rf-power-rack-8230.html
Answer:
1) I have a couple of of questions for you so I can get you the correct information. Does this feed you have to to include the internet as well? Or is this strictly CATV only? Do you have single mode fiber in place? 2) got it, we can help for both Ethernet over fiber and RF over fiber How many TV's are you planning to serve after the fiber optic RF receiver, We have 2 solutions available for a small amount of TV's and a solution for many TV's This is examples : Ethernet over fiber - point to point https://thorbroadcast.com/product/10-100-1000-mbps-fast-and-gigabit-ethernet-over-1-fiber-media-8230.html RF over fiber TX https://thorbroadcast.com/product/4-mw-catv-rf-over-fiber-tx-45-870-mhz.html RX https://thorbroadcast.com/product/catv-rf-fiber-receiver-high-rf-power-rack-8230.html or https://thorbroadcast.com/product/thor-optical-mini-catv-rf-transmitter-45-1000mhz.html https://thorbroadcast.com/product/thor-fiber-optical-mini-ftth-rf-catv-cable-tv-receiver-8230.html 3) The Pots and Ethernet will work on multimode; however RF will not, RF has to be on single-mode fiber, it won't work otherwise. So just keep that in mind when you put in the fiber.
