Analogue recording in the form of text, photos or films on magnetic tape, and even classic cinema and private films, recorded on 8mm and 16mm tapes is still a significant part of archives, especially of the middle and older generation. Since today a modern system based on digital recording is universally and irrevocably binding, the digitization of old analogue resources is a necessity.
There is also a necessity to use appropriate devices to watch and/or hear video from old analog devices. Numerous electronic devices are used for this purpose. Among them there are the methods proposed by Thor Broadcast Company.
This Device is a 4 CVBS Encoder that Converts Analog Video to MPEG IP or ASI. All programs are multiplexed to MPTS outputs on ASI and IP. With this Unit SPTS Outputs are available for all programs on IP.
Features
Real Time H.264 Hardware Encoder with 4 Analog Inputs
Independent control for encoding parameters on each channel
Provides all programs as MPTS outputs on both ASI and IP
Provides single program IP streams as 4 SPTS IP Outputs over UDP/RTP/RTSP
Includes ASI input for multiplexing an additional ASI program
Support CC (Closed Caption) EIA608 (from CVBS input)
1-4 CATV RF Output up to 4 Adjacent channels
QAM-256/64, DVB-T & ATSC formats available
Fully IP Control and Network Management through browser
Front Panel LCD local control
IPTV Output Unicast or Multicast IGMP UDP, RTP / RTSP
ASI Output multiplexer with cherry picking
Low Latency available 300/500/800ms delay via different modes - IP will always be closer to 800ms due to the decoding (these values are end to end, not just the encoding speed)
Dolby AC3 or MPEG1/2 Audio Encoding
MPEG2 or MPEG4 H.264 Video Encoding
Firmware for ATSC, DVB-T, DVB-S2 Available
VCT (Virtual Channel Table) support for DVB-C and ATSC
This device has 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 CVBS Analog to Baseband Video and Audio to IP. This unit provides CATV RF MPEG2 Encoding and RF Modulatoion. It Outputs 16 Independent QAM or ATSC or DVB-T channels and IPTV SMPTS streams at the same time.
Features
8/12/16/20/24 A/V CVBS inputs with MPEG2 Encoding - Modulated 4 RF output - and 4 MPTS's IP TS ouput
MPEG1 Layer II, AC3(2.0) Audio encoding and supports audio gain adjustment
1DVB-C tuner input for re-mux (only for DVB-C RF out version. Suitable for India market.)
128 IP input over UDP and RTP protocol
4 groups of multiplexing/scrambling/modulation output channels
PID remapping/ accurate PCR adjusting/PSI/SI editing and inserting
4 MPTS IP (DATA1 port only) output over UDP and RTP
4 DVB-C or DVB-T RF output
CC (closed captions)
Supports QR code, LOGO, OSD insertion
Control via web management, and easy updates via web
While most of the world has moved onto HD video and distribution; there is a still an obvious amount of SD Analog devices that are used to broadcast, view, stream older SD programming, because of this, Thor still carrries a lot of modern encoders which can utilize the older video sources.
